All squeamish folk, this is not the blog post for you lol! Some people like their coffee orally but I take mines rectally. I’m sure most of you already know of the many health benefits of coffee, at least that’s your excuse to be an addict. Unfortunately for me I love coffee but it doesn’t love me. I have a caffeine sensitivity 😦 However, the spasms that contribute to my sensitivity are not present when taken in the rear. But I do have explosive bouts of crap, literally a pound or two without pain.
WHAT IS CUPPING THERAPY?
Cupping therapy is an ancient remedy which is now considered a form of “alternative medicine”. Cupping therapy is done with animal horns, glass, bamboo, porcelain, silicone or plastic cups. By creating suction on the skin, as the picture above shows, stagnant blood (no longer flowing properly) is drawn to the surface.
Our skin is our largest organ, with that being said we need to pay close attention to what we are putting on it. Toxins are in our cosmetics and toxins are in our food! Toxins are even in the air we breathe so when do we get a say on what we ingest into our bodies?! Well in reality we do. It’s up to us as intellectual human beings to question the safety of the things we consume, even if we think it is something minuscule. We vote with our $$$ so every time we buy something toxin free it lets companies know we’re serious about our health! Remember that. IF YOU ARE WHAT YOU EAT, WHAT GOES ON YOUR SKIN GOES IN YOUR BODY!!! Comprende? Continue reading
What is Irritable Bowel Syndrome?
1 in 6 people suffer from IBS. According to Google, it’s an intestinal disorder that causes pain in the abdomen, gas, bloating, diarrhea and constipation. It affects millions of people each year and symptoms are “managed” but not cured with “treatment”. Most doctors end up prescribing laxatives, stool softeners and diarrhea pills.
In the spirit of New Year Resolutions, goals and aspirations… I want everyone to take the time to affirm their health and wealth this year.
Before things get chaotic take a moment or two or three to reflect on the things about last year that did not make you whole.
This year you will become WHOLE!
What is Kwanzaa
“Kwanzaa” comes from the swahili phrase, “matunda ya kwanza” which means “first-fruits.” It is a non religious holiday celebrating the unity of those in the African diaspora. It is a week long celebration which is observed December 26th to January 1st. It is intended to honor our African Heritage and culture. Kwanzaa was created in the 60s during the Black Power movement. This will be my first year celebrating and I’m ecstatic.
AS A CHILD I GREW UP IN THE CHURCH
Not literally but when it came to holidays and maybe once a month on Sunday. I loved Christmas because of the gifts and getting dressed up every Easter wearing my best clothes, going on egg hunts when I was younger and to the carnivals as I got older. My family was not very strict religious folk but our faith in God could never be broken. I remember every night getting on my knees at the side of the bed and praying with my mother and brother. “Now I lay me down to sleep, I pray the lord my soul to keep, if I should die before I awake, I pray the lord my soul to take.” But then I would see my father get down on a rug with his face to the floor… I never questioned him.
A few weeks ago I was asked if I would like to review Buddha Teas. Of course I said yes, I’m an avid tea drinker! Naturally, I checked them out before I replied and was delighted with my results because they are certified organic. YAY for no iffy toxic ingredients 🙂 Of all the flavors, why did I choose dandelion root? During the spring/summer months you can see this herb (not weed) all over the place and the reason is… Continue reading
